How To Hide Your Phone Number And Disable Caller ID In Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Hey guys, I’m going to quickly cover how hide your phone number when making a phone call in Android 6.0 Marshmallow by disabling caller ID, So, don’t go anywhere!
By default the caller ID setting is set to whatever your network provider has defined, which is usually to display your phone number when you make a call, however you may not always want to give your number out when making a phone call so we can optionally disable this functionality.
The option is a little hidden away through a few different menus, so I’ll show you how to get to it. First off, open up the phone app. Next select the menu icon which is the three dots icon toward the top right, followed by settings.
From the settings menu, select calls, and then additional settings. Give it a moment to retrieve the settings, then select Caller ID. From here you can explicitly set to hide your number or show it.
By default it is set to whatever your network defaults to, which in most cases will likely be to show your number. That’s all there is to it, you should now be able to make phone calls without your phone number showing up on the other phone. Just keep in mind this means that your call will show up as coming from a private number, so the other person might not necessarily answer it because they won’t know who you are, which of course may be the intention.
